Rhode Island Integrated Tax System is live with Personal Income Tax and Collections

November 6, 2015. Pembroke, MA – Revenue Solutions, Inc. (RSI), a company that specializes in providing revenue and compliance management products and services specifically to federal, state and municipal government revenue, labor and child support agencies, is pleased to announce that the Rhode Island Division of Taxation (RI DOT) successfully went live with Release 2: Personal Income Tax (PIT) and Collections with RSI’s Revenue Premier®.

This release contains many additional features including lien and levy issuance, payment agreements, license blocks program with other agencies, auto amended return, integrated MeF processing, payment claiming and recycling, lockbox payment processing, one-click billing, payment coupon processing, auto registration, internal and external offsets, refund fraud checks, partial refunds and many more.

“We’re delighted to announce that we are now live with Personal Income Tax in our new Integrated Tax System,” said Rhode Island Director of Revenue David M. Sullivan. “RSI several years ago provided us with our data warehouse, and it has generated millions of dollars in revenue for the State of Rhode Island, quickly covering its original cost,” Mr. Sullivan said. “On October 30th, 2015 we took the next step of rolling out the integrated tax processing functionality within RSI’s Revenue Premier product, bringing online Personal Income tax types. I am proud to say that the joint RSI and Rhode Island project team flawlessly delivered the second release within the planned 14 months schedule and the system is working great.”

This release continues what the RI DOT started in July 2013, when they sought a proven Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) Integrated Tax System to establish a system to support all aspects of its tax administration. RI DOT implemented RSI’s Revenue Premier software package a year later in July of 2014 that supports taxpayer registration, return/payment processing, taxpayer accounting, revenue accounting, collections, audit, tax data warehousing, decision analytics, business intelligence, case/workflow management, correspondence management and system administration. Release 3 will include the retirement of the mainframe for the remaining business taxes including Corporate, Sales, Withholding and other miscellaneous taxes, collections for business taxes, field audit work papers capabilities and the rollout of a new Taxpayer Portal. Release 3 is scheduled to go live in the fall of 2016.
