RSI Automates Maryland’s ITS Compass Project With Second Phase Launch

February 3, 2021. Pembroke, MA – The second phase of Maryland’s Integrated Tax System (ITS) called Compass launched on February 2, 2021. RSI in partnership with Comptroller Peter Franchot launched the second phase and met the challenges of working around COVID-19.

Built on RSI’s Revenue Premier cloud platform, the Compass system focuses on rapid processing of corporate income tax and effective government operations for the Comptroller of Maryland (COM).  The platform’s bespoke solution to enhance tax processing, accounting and imaging for the COM is being rolled out in four phases with a mission to improve citizen services by delivering transformative technologies. 

“The new system replaces an antiquated tax processing system that dates back to the 1970s and reflects an acknowledgment that we needed to upgrade our systems to more efficiently serve the public.”

Automating corporate income tax processing, and collections have been the primary priority in this collaboration between RSI and the Comptroller’s team. Streamlined system generated notices allowed for speedy customer service and additionally saved taxpayers time. With RSI’s extensive expertise in business and technical domains, the cloud-hosted platform integrated seamlessly with COM’s existing data warehouse.
